A native of Los Angeles, Amanda Gorman is an American poet and activist. She is the person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate and the youngest poet as of 2021 to perform at a presidential inauguration. Amanda is a cum laude graduate of Havard University, where she studied sociology.

Gorman will perform a poetry reading at the Inauguration ceremony of Joe Biden as the 46th president of America. At 22 years old, she will become the youngest poet to perform at a presidential inauguration. She told the Associated Press that her poem will be titled ” The Hill We Climb.” Moreover, the poet has performed in the White House during President Obama’s administration.
Other poets to perform at an inauguration ceremony were Maya Angelou and Robert Frost.
