Born in St. Joseph, Michigan, Amy Robach is an American journalist, who works as the co-anchor of 20/20 and the breaking news anchor/fill-in anchor for Good Morning America.

Robach previously worked as a national correspondent for NBC News and co-host of the Saturday edition of NBC’s Today, and anchor on MSNBC. She graduated with high honors in broadcast journalism from Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia, and from the University of Georgia.

On November 11, 2013, on GMA, Robach revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. This was after receiving a mammogram on live television on October 1, 2013.

She went on and underwent a bilateral mastectomy and later revealed that during the surgery, doctors found a second malignant tumor in her other breast. She was told that cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.

Thereafter, Robach underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and reconstructive surgery.
