Born  On October 11, 2005, Rubin is 15 years old as of 2020. Carter was born a boy and therefore is male by gender. However, being less masculine, he was picked on by his peers and bullies who suspected him of not being of the male gender as he has not gone through puberty yet, and his voice can be mistaken for a woman.

Carter Rubin Parents, Brother, and Grandfather

Rubin has an older brother named Jack. Jack is 19 years old as of 2020 and was diagnosed with autism when he was 2 years old. Carter stated that Jack is his best friend and has shown him what ” compassion, kindness, and love looks like.”

He comes from a musical family with his grandfather being a guitarist and backup vocalist for Jay and the Americans, a rock group from Long Island.

His parents, Allon (Mother), and David Rubin (father) though not inclined on the musical side.  However, they are very supportive of his musical journey.  The mother founded Families in Arms, a non-profit organization that raises money to support autistic children.

Carter Rubin The Voice: Audition and Singing

Rubin is a contestant on The Voice season 19. Moreover, he auditioned for the show in July 2020, singing Before You Go by Lewis Capaldi with Gwen Stefani and John Legend turning the chair for him. On being selected for the show, Carter chose Team Gwen and continued to impress the judges with his extraordinary vocals. He was among the top 5 finalists of the NBC show, with the other four being John Holiday, Jim Ranger, Ian Flanigan, and Desz.

Before The Voice, the 15-year-old had performed in the Sound of the Season series and in community musical events.

Rubin emerged the winner of The Voice season 19, 2020 competition after garnering the most votes from the American viewers. He performed his rendition of Miley Cyrus’s The Climb before singing his own original song titled Up From Here.  Carter is the youngest male contestant to ever win the competition.
