On July 4, 2009, Miles was on a live broadcast when a man tried to ruin her live shot. This, however, did not stop her from reporting because she used her arm to effortlessly shield the guy from her live shot.

She was reporting outside of New York City’s Port Authority regarding the New Jersey accident when the incident happened. As she reported, “There’s gonna be lots of confusion until this whole thing is wrapped up,”  that’s when a guy started walking in front of her but she was not going to let him come between her and delivering the news. So, with her arm, she swiftly and effectively prevented him from ruining the shot as she continued reporting. What caught the viewers’ attention is that she did not look in the intruder’s direction or even glance at him as she continued reporting as nothing had happened.
