Jake Ryan is an Australian actor. He has been a member of the Australian national Taekwondo team for eight years but received an injury on his leg. This led him to pursue a career in acting. He has played the recurring roles of Ray in “The Blizzard” Blissett in Underbelly and Harry Smith in Wentworth.

He has been a member of the Australian national team for eight years. He is also a ten-time champion. He ranked fourth-best in the world on three occasions. He withdrew from Beijing Olympics in 2008 following a knee injury. He later took interest in acting. Having trained with prominent actors such as Bill Hunter, he graduated after two years of study from The Actors’ Centre in Sydney.

Ryan started his acting career in 2003. He made his first appearance in a short film called ‘Trouble in Paradise’. Afterward, he received a minor role in 2005 in his first feature film; Indian romantic comedy, ‘Salaam Namaste.’ He also made appearances in shows such as; ‘The Sapphires’ with Deborah Mailman and Chris O’Dowd, the 2013 adaptation of ‘The Great Gatsby’ with Blue World Order, and Leonardo DiCaprio, which stars Billy Zane. He also had recurring roles in House Husbands, Underbelly, and a notable appearance in the Foxtel prison drama series, Wentworth. His duration in the series lasted him 2 years; from 2013 to 2015 until his character was killed off.

In 2016, he was cast in Australian soap opera called Home and Away as Robbo. He also appeared in the 30th-anniversary special documentary, Endless Summer: 30 Years of Home and Away.
In late 2018, he was cast in the leading role of New Zealand film Savage. He quit Home and Away during the last-minute opening episode of the 33rd season. The season aired on 27th January 2020.
