Wang has been working as an anchor and reporter for KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, WAOW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin, Mississippi, WTZH-TV in Meridian, and KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri. Furthermore, she started her television career, after her studies in ballet, tap and jazz.

“Gina’s Journey”,  was her 1997 documentary, about a teenage girl fighting with aids, received the CLTV Second Place Award from the National Association of Press Photographers for Best Documentary. Besides, this became CLTV’s first national award. However, it hosted five of CLTV’s “Community of Cultures” programs in honor of Asian-American Heritage Month.
