Born in New York, Maria LaRosa is an American meteorologist who works as a meteorologist on WNBC-TV New York. She previously worked for The Weather Channel.
She graduated from Penn State University in 1998, with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology. Prior to her graduation, LaRosa was also a teaching assistant for the University’s introductory meteorology course.
LaRosa is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society (AMS). She holds a seal of approval as a certified broadcasting meteorologist.

After graduating, LaRosa joined WTVM-TV in the year 1998 and worked there as a meteorologist until 2000. Later from 2000 to 20004, she worked at WXIX-TV, the FOX station in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After leaving WXIX, LaRosa was hired by KYW-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a weekday morning and noon meteorologist. She worked at the station from 2004 until 2010.

LaRosa joined The Weather Channel in 2010 as an on-camera meteorologist for both Weekend Now and PM Edition with her co-host Todd Santos.
Later in March 2012, she began to do the 5:30 AM to 6:00 AM edition of First Outlook and Your Weather Today from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (EST). She also hosted Wake Up With Al from 5:30 AM-7 AM alongside Stephanie Abrams, Al Roker, and Mike Bettes.
LaRosa also hosted Morning Rush from 7 AM-10 AM alongside Stephanie Abrams and Mike Bettes from 2010 to 2014, as well as America’s Morning Headquarters from 2914 to 2015.
She left The Weather Channel in 2018 and her last later on the station was September 23, 2018.
