Kaye began her television career at ABC, where she worked for Nightline and then for Peter Jennings. She subsequently went to work for KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas. Kaye has previously worked as a reporter and anchor for WFAA-TV in Dallas, KMSP-TV in Minneapolis, where she anchored Everyday Living, WWOR-TV in New York/New Jersey, and WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, where she anchors the 5 pm and 10 pm newscasts.

Kaye began working at CNN in December 2004. She is a national journalist as well as an investigative reporter for Anderson Cooper 360°. Previously, she hosted CNN Newsroom’s 1:00–2:00 p.m. ET daily hour. She took over as permanent weekend anchor after various changes at the network and the resignation of former weekend morning host T. J. Holmes.  Later, Kaye departed CNN Newsroom in April 2013 to return to her position at AC360°.

She joined the network in December 2004 and has covered breaking news as well as in-depth investigative stories. Also, she covered both Hillary Clinton’s and Donald Trump’s presidential campaigns in 2016. Kaye anchored from Washington, D.C. for Barack Obama’s Presidential Inauguration in 2013. In addition, she has covered and anchored CNN specials on the decade-long mystery surrounding British infant Madeleine McCann, the LAPD manhunt for Christopher Dorner, the Jodi Arias Trial, and the Boston Marathon Bombing.

She also reported from Arizona, the location of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ shooting, in 2011. Her broadcast career began at ABC in New York City, where she spent five years working alongside former World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings.
