Born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Ryan Baker is an American journalist and currently (2020) the Weekday Morning News Anchor at CBS 2, in Chicago. In addition, he joined CBS2 in April of 2008 as the lead sports anchor on the weekday evening newscasts at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.

He began his journalism career at  WCIA-TV and WICD-TV in Champaign, IL and, later joined KFMB-TV in San Diego.  He also worked as a Sports Director for WKMG-TV in Orlando from 1995 to 2003. As the Sports Director at WKMG-TV, Ryan was voted twice as the Best Sportscaster by Orlando Magazine. He hosted the Baker Show on Sports Radio 740 the Team as well as the Inside Magic.

From 2003 to 2008, Ryan worked for WMAQ-TV/NBC 5 as a sports anchor and reporter. He joined CBS in 2008 and as of November 2020 is working as the Weekday Morning News anchor at CBS 2.
