Shutt is WUSA 9’s Chief Meteorologist, appearing weekdays at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m., as well as throughout the day and night during all major weather events affecting our region.

He has been providing weather forecasts for WHUR 96.3 FM since 1988, and he now delivers weather for All-News 99.1 WNEW. Shutt was selected the best local weathercaster by readers of washingtonpost.com’s “Capital Weather Gang” in 2008.

Shutt came to WUSA 9 from sister station WFMY-TV in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he was the weekend weather anchor. From 1984 until 1987, he was the daily weather anchor for WTVK-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. From 1981 through 1984, his first job in television was as a weather producer and replacement weather anchor for CNN in Atlanta.

Shutt co-founded Automated Weather Source, a company that installs automated weather stations in elementary schools across the Metro Area, in 1992. He frequently speaks on meteorology at area schools, rotary groups, and serves as emcee at a variety of charitable events.
