Son’s Death
Their son Tommy died on April 10th, 2016 afternoon in a ICU after having a cold for a few days. On that day Tommy nose had started to bleed during his nap and after a few minutes, they realized they needed help to try and get it to stop so rushed to the hospital where he died that afternoon.
On Wed, Aug 2, 2017, the couple welcomed their second son Greyson.

Mayfield began his radio journalist career in the New York City New York NBC’s Today Show, followed up on KHQ-TV in Spokane by one year. Before returning to Spokane, she returned to work for the KNDO-TV reporter in Yakima in Washington and became a consumer reporter for KXLY-TV.
In 2006, Mayfield returned home to Seattle. First he served on the radio and TV as a reporter for KOMO News. Prior to his arrival at Q13 FOX, he was promoted to Community Network Manager, Executive Producer and Director of the Fisher Interactive Network Digital Social Strategy.
Mayfield’s work was awarded the Fisher Communications “Innovation” award in 2012 by the Society of professional journalists and RTNDA, the Associated Press. In 2012, he was nominated recently for an Emmy and is a member of the NATAS NW Governing Board.
