He is best known for his appearance as Harley Keener in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also appeared in Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Endgame.

Simpkins was three weeks old when he first appeared on Tv. Moreover, he shared the recurring role of John “Jack” Cramer on ‘One Life To Live’ which was his first role. On Guiding Light, he had a recurring role as Jude Cooper Bauer. He then had the role of Jude for about four years. In addition, in Law & Order: Criminal Minds, he guest-starred and also in a handful of commercials and print ads.

Furthermore, his film debut was in Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds (2005). He played a young version of Jude Law’s character in All the King’s Men which was his next role. In the multiple award-winning Little Children (2006), he played Aaron. Moreover, together with his brother Ryan, they play the children of Colin Farrell in the film Pride and Glory (2008). Additionally, he starred alongside his real-life sibling Ryan in Gardens of the Night (2008) and Revolutuinary Road (2008). Also, on CSI, Private Practice, and Family of Four, he guest-starred. He signed on to play Luke in the 2010 film ‘The Next Three Days in September 2009. Also, in Insidious (2011), and Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), he played Dalton Lambert.

Moreover, he starred alongside Robert Downey Jr. in 2013 in the live-action film Iron Man 3. He played Harley Keener, Stark’s sidekick. In this role, he reprises in Lego Marvel’s Avengers. This was the first time Iron Man films had prominently featured a child. In 2016, he appeared in the Iron Man 3 director Shane Black’s film, The Nice Guys.

In addition, he reprised the role of Harley Keener in a cameo during Tony Stark’s funeral in 2019. This was at the end of the film Avengers: Endgame. However, he admitted to keeping Stark’s death, and his own cameo a secret for two years.
