Born Joshua Regnall Stewart, Josh Stewart is an American actor best known for his role as Holt McLaren in the FX TV series Dirt. He is also famous for his role as Detective William LaMontagne, Jr. on the CBS series Criminal Minds brought him into the limelight.

His father who is a pastor at the Redeeming Grace Baptist Church in Webster Springs was a high school physical education teacher as well as a former pastor of the First Baptist Church in Webster Springs. He was also a former pastor of the Holly River Baptist Church. Moreover, his mother is a sixth-grade teacher at Webster Springs Elementary.

In his starring role as Arkin, he played a man attempting to rob a house to make enough money to pay his wife’s debts to loan sharks. This was his first feature film in 2009 in the horror movie, The Collector. He starred in the movie Beneath the Dark(Originally titled Wake) in 2010. The movie was inspired by the novel The Shining.

Stewart completed filming The Hunted, his directorial and writing debut recently. Along with The Collector producers Brett Forbes and Patrick Rizzotti, he co-produced the film.  “Found footage”,  is a film that revolves around Jake and Stevie.  Jake is Stewart and Stevie is Ronnie Gene Blevins. They both want their own TV show. Both Jake and Stevie head to the dense, secluded woods in West Virginia in an attempt to grab the media’s attention. To find the biggest they can, they are armed with only their bows and camera.

However, they soon realize they are not alone in the woods as the sun sets over the mountains and something supernatural is hunting them instead. The film has since picked up the North American distribution rights and was screened at TIFF and eONE Films.
