Verasamy trained and worked as a meteorologist at the Press Association’s weather center (later named MeteoGroup – Europe’s largest private weather company) after graduation. Here she was writing national and international weather forecasts for TV, radio, and Newspapers.

Moreover, she joined Sky and became the regular weather presenter on the Sky News breakfast show Sunrise having previously completed a work experience placement at the Sky Weather Centre before becoming a weather forecaster. The Sky News breakfast website started a feature in 2007 entitled Climate Clinic – Ask Lucy as part of their Green Britain campaign. Verasamy joined the newly launched ITV Breakfast program Daybreak on September 6, 2010, as a weather forecaster and environment correspondent alongside Kristy McCabe. However, McCabe left the program on February 7, 2012, leaving Verasamy the sole weather forecaster. She too left the program on August 2, 2012.

Furthermore, she has fronted the national weather forecasts for ITV since 2012.

In addition, she is part of the ITV Racing team as a weather expert as of 2017. She also joined Good Morning Britain in August as a relief weather presenter. Moreover, she fronted the M&S Fresh Food Market promotions in 2019.
