Furthermore, in her response to her accomplishment, she said that she is most proud of writing an article for her school newspaper. This led to her being invited to consult with her university’s Equity and inclusion officer on creating a better framework and support for Black students at McMaster University. Additionally, she said that being able to use her voice for change that not only benefitted her was so empowering.

The star also added that people are used to hearing her when she is there so when she is quiet people usually don’t think she is there and can take notice of what they are saying. In addition, Oketch’s mother is so hardworking and managed to get herself out of poverty and became a doctor in Kenya, and was able to provide for her mom. The star’s mother then gave that all up to support her father’s dreams, but then became a doctor in Canada while having three young children while dealing with the systemic racism in academic medicine Maryanne added that her mother sacrificed and worked so hard to give her family a better life and never faltered from her dreams. Moreover, the star adds that she aspires to be like her because she changed her life.

She replied Davie saying that Davie was someone who had loyalty to many people, had a strong core alliance, and was social. Moreover, she said he was not only that ut was able to find idols and win challenges and play idols correctly to further his game. However, she added that Davie had so much fun when he was on the island no matter if he was on the top or bottom of his tribe. She concluded that Davie had the path to 6th place and that she will perfect it to 1st.

Furthermore, when asked why she believes she can be the sole survivor, she said it is because she is a social person, and SURVIVOR at its core is a numbers game. Moreover, she added that she has lived in diverse cities and also been in situations where she was the only black person. Additionally, she said in every situation she thrived and SURVIVOR is another place where her resilience and personality will shine. Also, she said that she never goes down without a fight. She also said that when all hope is lost, she will be searching for idols, talking to people as well as convincing them that her staying is best for everyone. Furthermore, she said that she is going on SURVIVOR to win and she will do everything in her power to do so.
