While working as a crime reporter, she found out that there was nothing more satisfying than working with the loved ones of a homicide victim that case had seemingly been forgotten about by the general public. Her main goal with every case she dealt with was to bring in enough new information to get the case reopened.
In the four years that she served at KGET, she was very fortunate to get to work closely with law enforcement and victims’ families on cases that grew very close to her heart.
Two Edward R. Murrow awards and two Emmys in crime reporting were given to her for her work on cold cases. Some of her work has been broadcast on Dateline NBC, Dr. Phil, and other national shows that have focused on killings she has investigated thoroughly.
Lavoice is excited to take on the challenge of covering crime in the Pacific Northwest. She is ready to assist families who deserve to know that their loved one is remembered and that they are not alone in their search for answers.
