Meade also worked as the morning news anchor of WSVN-TV’s Today in Florida and was also the station’s noon anchor and health reporter.

Later on, Meade joined NBC Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV. At the station, she worked as the anchor of morning newscasts. She also co-anchored the weekend newscasts and also served as a general assignment correspondent.
While there, she covered the 1996 Olympics. This included special reporting on the Centennial Olympic Park bombing.

Meade joined HLN is 2001 when it was known as CNN Headline News. She anchored the coverage of Operation Enduring Freedom as well as that from Operation Iraqi Freedom in the spring of 2003.
