Belleci went to Monterey High School and joined San Francisco State University’s film school in 1994 where he graduated.
Belleci first worked at the M5 studios in San Francisco, California with Jamie Hyneman. He ran errands and also acted as a stage manager. The MythBusters host later worked at Industrial Light and Magic for eight years. He worked as a painter, builder, and sculptor.
In 2003, he started working on MythBusters on Discovery Channel, working behind the scenes in the first season. In season 2 he became part of the show’s build team and in the 3rd season, he received on-screen credit. Tory also worked on several projects such as Bicentennial Man, Starship Troopers, Galaxy Quest, Peter Pan, The Matrix trilogy, and Van Helsing. He also has a short film called SandTroopers, which appeared in the Slamdance Film Festival
and on Syfy.
