The Emmy-Award-winning journalist joined WCCO-TV in April 2003 fools day as a reporter. From 4.39 a.m. to 7.00 a.m., he serves as the co-anchor of This Morning on weekdays. Moreover, he co-anchors WCCO Mid-Morning from 9 to 10 a.m. Additionally, at WCCO, he serves as a food reporter and producer of “DeRusha Eats”. He was one of the first reporters at the scene to cover the story on the air during the collapse of the Interstate 35w bridge.

He served as a reporter for three years at WISN-TV in Milwaukee prior to joining WCCO-TV. Moreover, he worked as a weekend news anchor at KWQC-TV in Davenport, IOWA prior to joining WISN-TV. Also, he worked as a reporter at WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois. Moreover, he interned at ABC World News Tonight, in New York.

He is a past president of the Board of Governors of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the twin cities. Additionally, he is a host and frequent speaker for charity fundraisers. Furthermore, at WCCO Radio, he frequently fills in. He has also been writing for Minnesota regional magazine since 2009.
