Josh Gates is an American television producer and presenter and currently, he hosts ad co-executive produces The Discovery Channel series Expedition: Unknown and also Legendary Locations. Prior to this, he was the host and co-executive producer of Truth and Stranded on Syfy.

Destination Truth
Gates was the hosted Destination Truth on Syfy from 2007 to 2012. Its second season premiered with its best-ever telecast. It became the highest-rated second season performance by a reality series on Syfy delivering 1.7 million total viewers. However, the series ended after its fifth season.
Moreover, he traveled to Walt Disney World in Florida to meet with Joe Rohde, Walt Disney Imagineering’s Executive Designer in 2008. Additionally, Gates presented Rohde with a cast of the ‘Yeti’ footprint. Yeti was found during a Destination Truth episode by Gates. Guests come face-to-face with a Yeti where the cast is on display at Expedition Everest, a Himalayan-themed, high speed, coaster-like attraction.

Ghost Hunters
For the television series Ghost Hunters and its spin-off Ghost Hunters International, Gates hosted eight live specials. Moreover, on four episodes, he acted as a guest investigator. Featuring former Ghost Hunters members Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, and Dave Tango, he produces the related Ghost Nation series.
Furthermore, he hosted the Ghost Hunters Live Halloween special in 2007. On the mid-first-season finale episode of Ghost Hunters International, he made a guest appearance in 2008.
In addition, during the live seven-hour broadcast from Ft. Delaware, a civil war POW camp in Delaware Bay, he helmed. This was in 2008 after returning as the host of Ghost Hunters Live. Expedition: Back to the Future
A four-part special of Expedition: Unknown was created. This was titled Expedition: Back to the Future in 2021. Along with Christopher Lloyd, he set out to try and find the six other DeLorean Time Machines that were used during the filming of the Back to the Future movies. This was to sell-off at auction to help raise money for research into Parkinson’s disease with the help of donating it to The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
