A native of Goshen, Indiana, Katherine Jean Bolduan, Kate Bolduan is an American broadcast journalist for CNN based in New York City. Previously, she was the host for the CNN program State of America with Kate Bolduan on CNN International, New Day. Currently, she is At This Hour with Kate Bolduan’s host. She was a general assignment correspondent as well as a congressional correspondent based in Washington, D.C for the network.

Simpson armed robbery case, and the retiring NASA Space Shuttle fleet are some of the news-making headlines she made traveling the United States.

Before moving to New York, Bolduan was a co-anchor of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. During the two-hour program, she provided current events, political headlines, breaking news, and reports within lively discussions alongside Wolf Blitzer.

New Day

New Day premiered on June 17, 2013. It airs from 6:00 a.m. TO 9:00 a.m. and it is a weekday morning television show on CNN. Starting Point was replaced by New Day.  Starting Point was formerly anchored by Soledad O’Brien which had aired since January 2, 2012.

At This Hour with Kate Bolduan

Alongside John Berman, Bolduan joined CNN’s new morning show, @This Hour. It premiered on January 26, 2015. With co-hosts, John Berman and Kate Bolduan, at This Hour covered various news stories of the day. At This Hour was broadcast live from CNN’s New York Studios in Manhattan and aired weekdays from 11 a.m. to noon ET. She took over as the sole host of the show as it changed its name to At This Hour on February 6, 2017, when Berman moved to 9 a.m. to co-host CNN Newsroom.

In addition, the show returned to the CNN lineup in April 2021. Correspondents send their on-site live reports on daily events into the studio which is the focus of the show. At This Hour presents discussions with guests and moderated live interviews via teleconference or in the studio.

State of America with Kate Bolduan

A CNN’s International program that covered the 2016 U.S. Presidential campaign for a global audience, the State of America with Kate Bolduan, where Bolduan was named the anchor. The program was renamed following the election. It pivoted to focus on U.S. news and affairs. From CNN’s New York studios in Manhattan, the show aired Fridays at 23:00 CET.

She discussed the daily news during the first ten minutes of the show. A panel, typically consisting of analysts from various backgrounds and four journalists, discussed current affairs following a commercial break.
