Born in Newport, Arkansas, United States, Jim Ranger is a pastor, a worship leader, and a singer known widely for contesting in The Voice season 19, 2020. He started singing at the age of 4 and learned how to play the guitar at 13 years old. At 29 years old, Jim contested in American Idol season 9 in 2010, singing his original song Drive, during the auditions. He, however, was eliminated on the first day of the Hollywood round.
